"American Made" Inspired by Real-Life Drug Smuggler

The notorious real-life drug smuggler Barry Seal inspired this wild story of an airline pilot who decides he's willing to take risks to get ahead. Tom Cruise stars as Seal, a former TWA pilot who turned to smuggling drugs for the CIA and Medellin Cartel in the 1980s. Domhnall Gleeson and Sarah Wright also star.
"American Made" is a high-octane action comedy that follows Seal's rise and fall in the world of drug smuggling. The film is directed by Doug Liman ("The Bourne Identity") and written by Gary Spinelli ("The Hangover").
"American Made" is scheduled to be released in theaters on September 29, 2017.
