Following Surprise Coachella Appearance

Glover Announces Two New Projects Under His Real Name

Donald Glover has announced that he will be retiring his "Childish Gambino" persona, according to Ashley McLean for The New York Times. The actor, writer, and musician made the announcement following a surprise appearance during Tyler, the Creator's headlining set at Coachella.

Glover, 39, has been using the "Childish Gambino" stage name since 2006. He has released three studio albums under the name, including the Grammy Award-winning "Awaken, My Love!" (2016). He has also starred in several films and television shows, including "Atlanta," "Solo: A Star Wars Story," and "The Lion King."

Glover has not yet given a reason for retiring the "Childish Gambino" persona. However, he has hinted that he is ready to move on to new projects. He recently announced two new projects under his real name: a television series called "Hive" and a film called "The New World."
