Injuries Pile Up As BVB Prepares for New Season
Borussia Dortmund's preparations for the upcoming Bundesliga season have been hampered by a series of injuries, with the club currently missing eight players due to various ailments.
The latest setback came in the form of right-back Thomas Meunier, who suffered an apparent injury during a shooting drill. He was seen clutching his hamstring and is expected to undergo further evaluation.
Meunier joins a growing list of injured Borussia Dortmund stars, including Giovanni Reyna, Karim Adeyemi, Jamie Bynoe-Gittens, and Sebastian Haller. The absence of these key players is a major blow to manager Edin Terzić, who had been hoping to field a strong team in the upcoming season.
Despite the injury woes, Borussia Dortmund managed to secure a 1-0 victory over Spanish side Villarreal in a pre-season friendly. However, the win came at a cost, as Roman Bürki and Marco Reus were both forced off with injuries. The severity of their injuries is still being assessed.
The German club will be hoping to avoid any further setbacks in their remaining pre-season fixtures, as they prepare to kick off their Bundesliga campaign against Bayer Leverkusen on August 6th.
